Riding a motorcycle or scooter on the road can be one of the most rewarding and exhilarating experiences, all of your senses get involved not to mention the feeling of freedom, liberation and the cost savings of powered two wheel transport!

The skills you need as a rider are paramount to your safety on the road. Learning from highly qualified and experienced instructors who have hundreds of years of experience between them will help to prepare you for the journey and growing in the experience of riding.

Pass Bike is proud to introduce CBT Plus™ .

CBT Plus™ is a new course written by Pass Bike Chief Instructor Ian Burrell MBE AMIMI and registered with the DVSA. CBT Plus™  not only covers the mandatory elements to be successful at the DVSA CBT but also includes 100% more road tuition when compared to the standard CBT. Extra elements like hazard avoidance, filtering and machine maintenance are all covered during the course. There is more time to practice manoeuvres and perfect those machine control skills too. CBT Plus™  is scheduled over 2 days (16 hours) these can be consecutive or modular. 

CBT Plus™ covers all of the elements and competencies to complete the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency Compulsory Basic Training Course and receive a DL196 Certificate. CBT Plus™  moves at the pace of the student, we have a maximum of two students per instructor for the whole course. CBT Plus™ instructors are all “A” rated DVSA approved Motorcycle instructors with many years of riding experience, some are emergency services blue light trained, some are experienced medical couriers. All of them are exceptional tutors with the backing of an IMI (Institute of Motor Industry) approved workshop.

CBT Plus™ cost £349 and includes bike hire, fuel, insurance and the use of fully sanitised CE proved jacket and gloves. Add more to your ride choose CBT Plus™ .

What CBT Plus™  includes:

Day 1:

Introduction and eyesight check

Classroom Session on Motorcycle Apparel and Visibility

Motorcycle Controls 

Motorcycle Maintenance 

Practical on-site training including Moving Off, Slow Riding, Fig 8, U turns and Off Road Junctions including Roundabouts, Hazard avoidance, Emergency Stop and more!

Day 2:

Highway Code Classroom Session

2x 1hr Road Ride Sessions

Assessed 2hr Road Ride Session

Road Ride Sessions are built to suit each student and cover Country Lanes, Town Riding, Dual Carriage Ways, Roundabouts, Hill Starts, U Turns, Emergency Stops and Filtering etc. A DL196 certificate will be issued after the student has been able to demonstrate the standard of riding required to fulfil the DVSA CBT criteria.

Please note the following when booking a CBT Plus™ course:

We provide fully sanitised Jackets and Gloves free of charge but you will need your own helmet for hygiene reasons.

You MUST bring your photo card driving licence or paper licence and valid passport
You MUST bring a check code or your National Insurance Number.
You MUST bring your own helmet or one can be purchased on the day.
You MUST attend wearing Motorcycle Trousers, Jeans or Heavy Work Trousers without rips or tears

You MUST attend wearing Sturdy Boots that cover your ankles such as Timberland Style or Motorcycle Boots
